i have these rims and im tryin to take off the blck paint that the previous owner put on them. im pretty sure theyre powder coated but not sure. they paint peals off like its vinyl but its tough as hell to get off. i sprayed a paint remover on it and a whole can didnt even get all of the paint off 1 rim. if any1 knows a trick plz let me kno

 

they are most likely powdercoated. You need to get a sandblaster and sandblast them or get someone too do that for you. It will damage any polished lip that it may have but that can be fixed easily with high grit sandpaper and some mothers aluminum mag polish.

 

well i got a pad that u put on a drill its rubber with little rubber brushes on it. but it took off the finish that was on it.

 

spray aircraft stripper all over it then wait like 30 min, wire brush it all off, then sand

 

i sprayed that stuff and used a whole can on 1 rim and didnt completely take it off

 

it might leave a little on but the take a wire wheel to it
