Default Crank pulley tool contains LEAD?!?!

I just purchased this crank pulley tool off Amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000TMLWQ

I received it, and printed on the tool is "Chrome Vanadium" which is what most hand tools are made of. But then I look on the back of the package and it says "Warning: this product contains lead. Wash hands after handling." I'm thinking WTF, why would something like this contain lead?? Can anyone shed some light?

There's a good chance that anything that comes from China contains lead, mercury, or some other heavy metal.

The lead may be in the coating on the tool and not in the tool steel itself. I do not think lead is a component in black oxide coatings, but we all remember "lead paint."

if you have ever been to a gun range, you will notice your hands, arms, and face get covered with lead. just wash the parts of your body that come into contact with lead thoroughly
