Default Anyone have experiance with Progress Rear Sway Bar?

There is a group buy going on for the sway bar. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this bar. The price is good right now, so im trying to decide wheter to go with an ITR bar or the progress. Also in terms of instalation , was it a straight bolt on affair or was drilling involved just like the ITR bar.

Thanks.

There is a groupbuy on Groupbuycenter.com the retail is 249.99 and the groupbuy is selling it for $150. It's a good price.

i don't know much about the bars individually or have any experience with them, but i do know that with those swaybars in addition to a number of other components, and carefull suspension tuning, progress got both a civic and an integra to pull over 1G of lateral accelaration. Progress has always made good stuff too, so I'd say it's pretty well worth it. Thats my $.02.

They should be 23mm on the rear for Civics and Integras. They're bigger than most, say the Skunk 2 bar, and also utilize a different mounting point for what they claim is additional leverage.

I have Progress coilovers and the Progress rear sway bar in addition to some other suspension goodies. Next to the coilovers, the sway bar was the single most advantageous modification to my suspension. I went with Progress because I already had the coilovers. Installation of the swaybar was a snap because it was designed to work with the coilovers. I can't remember exactly what was required to install the bar using stock/other brand springs and shocks but I think there weren't any major alterations; nothing that couldn't be done yourself.

Word of advice with any sway bar. Make sure the tires you have in the rear are GOOD! Stiffining up the rear makes turns fun, but the rear will be more inclined to break loose on you.

me too. though the ITR rsb is a good deal overall, the fact that you have to remove permanent parts (welded nuts) off the subframe.

so i assume the progress bar just reuses the stock mounting location on the subframe and endlinks? how robust is the bracket that holds the rsb to the subframe?

TIA

I have progress springs on my 99 civic si along with the rear swaybar. The springs are great but the rear sway bar rubs my lower contol arms when you hit certain angles like driveways. I bought the swaybar when the car was new so they may have changed the design by now. I should probably contact them to see what they say. Yes the bar does use factory mounting locations. Other than the rubbing is does help handleing a LOT. I can throw the rear end out in a turn easily now.
