I just bought the car and well i feel it kinda slow, and I noticed a serious problem. When I accelerate at 5,500 RPM the car just doesnt accelerate no more and makes a weird sound kinda of a brrrr sound plus the vtech doesnt activate. I went to advanced auto parts for a diagnostic and got these two codes P0401 which is EGR flow insuficient, and code 1253 which I looked up and its Vtech malfunction. So i would like to know what you guys recomend me to di, what other troubleshootings should i go through or what should i repair or service.

Your car has an intermediate exhaust pipe just behind the oil pan, the joint often causes the noise you describe. There is an update kit for it with stronger springs.

The V-tec solenoid won't activate if you are low on oil, and the pressure switch at the solenoid is somewhat backwards of normal. Should have continuity with engine off; no pressure. And open switch [no continuity] with engine running and proper pressure.
It is normal to have limited RPM if there is a troublecode stored in the computer
