On my 96 EX 2.2l I've had the gas guage down to the E line....and it still doesnt come on.

When is the as light supposed to come on?

Maybe something is wrong with my Fuel floater and its not triggering the gas light on the guages.

 

or the gas light in the gauges is burned out?

 

crap..if it is that sucks...i just pulled out the gauges recently to replace them with a working set with a working speedometer.

I got the gauges from a 95...while my car is a 96.

Stooopid Honda CD6 Speedometer gremlins...

 

"Vapors" whould be the crass answer, but I think you deserve a little better than that.
I understand that the gauge (when new) reads empty when there's aprox two (2) to three (3) gallons remaining; of that there is a portion which is unusable in the tanks sump. The light (I believe) comes on a little after you pass empty.
Just about enough to get a few blocks to a fuel stop.
Don't ignore it.

prob the light went off. you shouldnt wait for your tank to be empty to refill anyways, if its hits a quarter, you should refill it anyways.

 

You can test if your gas light still works or not. Check out the service manual. Mine went all the way on E-Line and still didn't come on, but i check that my gas light was working.
