I reported to the police yesterday, thought id post on here as well.
My girlfriends scooter was stolen Tuesday night sometime from our apartment in northern Long Beach (bixby knolls)

Its a grey 2006 yamaha vino exactly like the one pictured


license plate: 18M1389
-has a 'half moon' scrape on the front fender.
-optional windscreen
-wire basket on the back
-just over 500 miles on it

i know its not much to go on but i wanted to get it out there because im feeling doubtful that we'll see it again, so any help would be greatly appreciated

--Kinda keep an eye out for these on the side of the road for me because im guessing unlike a stolen car thats left by the theives, the scooter probably wont be on blocks so less likely to be reported

im pretty surprised about it myself, but people will take anything they dont have i suppose so it is what it is.
im hoping to get it back in good condition, my girlfriend uses/kinda needs it to go to and from Cal state LB and its super fun to just cruise around on.

 

seriously lame, I had a co-worker almost get his cbr ripped off. so now he locks that **** to a post.

But seriously...lame. some people just don't understand the concept of "Working for it!"

Sorry to see this. This is coming from a fellow scooter owner. I've been reading on scoot forums about the rise of scooter thefts and people being jacked with knives. Some guy got beat up and robbed by 4 guys at a gas station.

You should get a disk lock for your girlfriend if she gets the scooter back, or gets another one in the future. My scooters have alarms and I a disk lock.

I hope they just used it for a joy ride and you find it in one piece. Good luck.

Thats madness! theyre scooters, come on, you can get a knock off for $600!
I just heard about the disc locks after it got stolen (ofcoarse) and ill definently look into getting her one if we get it back
