aftermarket roof rack for 94 wagon
I have an aftermarket yakima rack on my 95 wagon. I've had it for a couple years now. Not sure what you are wanting from a rack, but I might be able to cause a few less headaches. After it was all put together, I spent around $600. ( 4 Q towers, 2 bars, 1 faring, 2 bicycle carriers, a front wheel mount, sks locks, and the clips for towers) The clips aren't made anymore, so i called all the local outdoor / bicycle shops and finally found 2 pair. Now that I've used the rack, I wish that I would have gone a different route. Just having the rack gets worse gas mileage and it drops even more when I have bikes in the racks. Then there is the loading and unloading, which normally means having to stand on the doorstep to reach anything in the middle. Oh, and the rack can only support 125lbs and that doesn't include the bicycle rack attachments. In hindsight, I wish I would have installed a 1 1/4 in. rear receiver hitch and an Allen 3 bicycle hitch mount. Detaches easily, air is deflected, can hold more bicycles / weight and is a lot easier to load / unload bikes. Hope this helps.
