Default '08 Civic Si Coupe - carbon fiber spark plug wire cover swap issue........

whats up everyone?? ok, so i recently received my carbon Fiber spark plug wire cover from Password JDM....of course, there are fitment issues..(all of the holes line up with the stock holes, i checked that).....but, all of the holes will need to be drilled out some so that i can re-use the stock bolts....

here's my problem i can't get the two front bolts off of the OEM spark plug wire cover....i can only assume that the black nuts should come off of the bolt itself..(b/c there's a spacer on the underside of the bolt to keep you from over-tightening it and cracking the cover itself)....

so, am i missing something?? if anone has swapped out their OEM wire cover for am aftermarket one, what did you do? re-use the stock bolts like i'm trying to? if not, how did you get around not being able to get the two front ones off of the OEM cover??

if anyuone wants to actually help me out then i can give you my e-mail addy so that i can send you some pics to show you exactly what bolts i'm talking about....it's pissing me off....i mean, even though i'll have the two back bolts on once i drill out the holes a bit on the carbon cover....
i'd really like to re-use all four.....worst case once i get the cf cover on i'll ride over to the Honda dealer and see what they suggest

2 are just nuts. 2 are bolts with a nut head.

right....the bolts with the nut heads attached (the back ones) come off no problem.....the two front ones (that seem like they have nuts that come off of them) don't break loose from the bolt itself....so, it's just dangling in the holes of the cover after i take it off the engine....i can't break the nuts loose for the life of me...i don't get it

more than likely you are remove the whole screw and not just the nuts from the front. so you will need to remove the winshield wiper cowl piece. that way you can lift the cover off.

^wrong. you need to get a hold of the stud that is spinning with it and loosen from the top. this happened to me the first time i dyno'd, you have to pull the cover to clamp the a/f to a coilpack. i used a small vise grip but a needle nose shoud do the trick.

word....my friend has a vise at his house....i tried gripping the spacer part on the bolt (not the threaded part so that i don't go chewing up the threads) but, the nut is on so damn tight that i can't grip it tight enough with the pliers...so, i figure a vise should work perfectly....
but, i got the Carbon Fiber cover on today after i got home from work...just had to drill out the holes a little for the bolts that go in the back ones (b/c they have the spacers on the bolt too and it was a bit wide for the holes).....looks good though....matches the Carbon Fiber engine cover real nice.....

i'll update my cardomain page with pics of it within a day or two....

aight, i got it done yesterday after work....my friend Nico helped me out by getting the nuts loosened off of the the bolts for me.....in the end, the carbon fiber cover fits like a glove, all of the holes lined up perfect (other than having to drill out the two holes in the back so that the bolts go through)
i'll put pics up onto my Cardomain.com page today of my most recent mods (Skunk2 shift ****, Skunk2 reservoir cover, Skunk2 billet aluminum oil cap, and the spark plug wire cover)
