Default Climate Control Heat Response Tempermental

I have a 2003 Accord Coupe V6 6spd with NAV and Climate Control. As the temps have dropped this fall and I've kicked up the temp I've noticed that heat doesn't start flowing until I get to 84 deg. The newest twist is no heat even at Hi setting, until I went all the way down the temp and back up again. My outside temp gauge is accurate. I'm wondering whether the climate control temp gauge is mixed up? Any insights would be welcome, thx.

Check to make sure your car is full of coolant 1st. (look at the overflow bottle)
