Yeah I heard from another guy I kno with an accord tellin me not to put synthetic into mine because hee said those series burn synthetic quicker than regular conventional oil true or false anyone?
False... F-series themselves don't burn any more synthetic then regular oil. As long as you stick to the same weight oil that you are using now. When you switch over to synthetic you shouldn't see any more oil consumption than you are seeing now, if any.
I used 100% Synth 0w20 AMSOil in my 96' F22B2 with 180k on it. Maybe lost a 1/2 qt over 3k miles/length of an oil change. But that's only because I dropped oil weight. After two oil changes I moved back up to the 100% synthetic 5w30 with no problems.
In the end It all depends on the condition of the motor and the weight of the synthetic oil you decide to use.

i recently switched my f22a6 over to royal purple from pennzoil, grant it that my engine has 120,000 or so on it, it actually seemed to burn less oil than it was before.
You actually arn't burning the syn oil. It's being blown past the piston rings. Syn. oil doesn't burn, the motor "uses" it. That is why you can't use it in a rotory engine, they do burn oil and syn is a big no,no. You will blow out the apex seals.
This is coming straight from R&D people at Moble, Castrol, and Valvoline that I have talked to over the years.
