Default i thought this was a site for help and info....im getting niether

i have posted 2 or 3 previous posts concerning info on a head swap i need to perform as i am now stuck with a new head. i have a 1991 crx with a d15 block and am trying to install a d16z6 head onto it. i have bought the head, distributor, p28 ecm, water pump, tensioner and timing belt ( to match the block not the head as i was told to do) , i have a good intake and throttle body that came with my head and am now searching for a 92-95 wire harness to change the engine compartment over to multi port. i have asked and asked what else i need , what would be the correct head, and intake/exhaust gaskets to get and also info on how to change the rings without pulling the whole motor and noboy has given me diddly. someone gave me two sites on my first post to go to but they dealt with a d16 block with a d16z6 head...i have a d 15block and d16z6 head. . i desparately need help on this as i have no clue and can not afford downtime with this being my only vehicle so i need to know i have everything i need before i begin the swap and my car cant take pumping oil like it is much longer. anyone please point me in the right direction searches are not doing anything for me.oh i also meant to include that this is a v-tec head and i have a goood working v tec solenoid but have no idea what kind of controller i need.

I've seen worse, much worse, but...

1) How about a clear thread title identifying key components of your question

2) Proper Punctuation and Capitalization

3) Formatting.

First of all, don't try to use a 92-95 harness in your crx. It will not fit without ALOT of work. It is 10x more work to do that then converting your stock harness to mpfi. You don't need a vtec controller if your using a p28 ecu, it already has vtec.

Basically here is what you will need off the top of my head.

1. convert your engine harness to mpfi. Search for this info.
2. buy an mpfi-obd1 adapter harness
3. Head gasket set for a d16z6, comes with everything for the top end.
4. the right timing belt, don't what that is, search on d-series.org for it

Now if this is your daily driver, you might want to consider just buying a complete running engine and just swap it. This will save you a lot of headaches if you don't what you are doing.

This thread on d-series.org should answer any questions you have. http://www.d-series.org/forums...27126

If you really searched you should have found your answers. This swap has been done hundreds of times.

for starters in you said you are goin dpfi to mpfi?.....you dont use an eg engine harness. you use an hf or si crx harness. are you gonna use obd0 or obd1 injectors? since youre goin with a obd1 ecu i assume you already have your obd0-obd1 jumper harness...? have any wires been tampered with at all as far as conversions or anything?

thanks for the site info for d series. im going to check it out. on the subject of whether i have searched for this info..the answer is yes. and when i would yahoo or google search i would get diddly or get infor on putting this d16z6 head on a d 16 ...not really what i needed.
The guy who said i should have already got myself a jumper harness was partially correct i would have already bought one if i had been given this info , thus my reason for posting my questions on this site as a friend of mine told me the people here would be friendly and very helpful. i am not completely clueless as i am a ase and i-car certified master tech body tech, im just not a mechanic...there is a huge difference in my opinion , so i am asking mechanics thier opinions on what i need and why so i get this done right the first time.
and finally i had no real idea that my use of proper punctuation was key to getting a correct response to a simple question! the guy who said he had seen much worse post's seem's perfectly fine with commenting on my grammar skillls but yet again was not helpful with my question( thank you so much for the imput professor).
I do appreciate the positive imput and info that a couple of you gave me and will look into all of it and research my swap further. thanks.

when people say formatting and grammar try and not make it look like one huge sentence.

tends to just hurt peoples eyes and **** them off.

seperate things out, it helps.

I always try and help out on the sites I'm on but if all the words look like they are bluring to me then I'm not gonna answer.

Well to be honest, usually someone will post right away that you should check the FAQ (and the answers you seek are in there). Unfortunately nobody did that till this thread.

I'll try to help you out:

GASKETS: For theintake/exhaust manifold gaskets use D16Z6 specific gaskets. The reason is simple, you're using a D16Z6 head. It's irrelevant which block you're using.
NOTE: Pretty much all D15/16 from 88-00 use the same exhaust gasket

HARNESS: Someone already mentioned a jumper harness. Aside from that, you can look up DPFI to PGMFI conversion (dual point fuel injection to multi point fuel injection) to get a better understanding of the fuel side of things
NOTE: It's not absolutely necessary to pick up a conversion harness if you know how to rewire things (and possibly source a few harness plugs) but it will (or at least should) make life alot easier with this head swap and getting your car running.

RINGS: Yes, you can install new rings without removing the block. I did this on my mini me. While you have the head off, you can drop the oil pan and unbolt the rod end caps. From there you can push the rod/piston assembly upwards and out through the top of the block.
NOTE: You should use a ball type hone (not sure of the specific name of the honing tool, you'll know it when you see it). Also, there is a specific end gapping tool for the rings. You can probably get away without it, but it would be ideal to use.

As for the grammar side, it's not really a big deal. Like "phoenix_iii" said, I've seen much worse (much much worse). But when someone comes on here who cannot seem to type with proper grammar and spelling, it's a turn off to a bunch of people which is what you do not want to do if you're asking for help.

Hope that helps.

When people say search, they mean use the forum search function, found on the top right that says "Search" in red.

be sure to use keywords like "mini-me", DPFI MPFI, etc

ok, now here is where i feel like a moron...i have been going to the red search engine at the top of the page. now in attempting to search for mini-me info and a dpfi mpfi conversion i used the keywords and multiple variations to seee if i could get results and every single time it says that they found no items matching my search.
So, yet again i am trying to search for the info and i am coming up blank. i did look up the links that a few of you guys had posted and have found them incredibly helpful. I just need to research a little more info and then i think its time to swap.
i guess my question now is what am i doing wrong in trying to use the search engine ?

Those links you read where they are using the d16 block instead of a d15 block will work the only different is the timing belt

Superfly,

When you first get into the crx/ef civic forum the first five forums listed are always the same. Practically all of my questions have been answered in the CRX & Civic FAQ Version 2.0

That thread is incredible helpful for almost any subject matter discussed on HT

That's exactly where you need to go, don't use the actual search button for the basics. Go straight to the FAQ at the top of the forum.
