When the car is cold as soon as I turn it on it go's to like 3000 rpm then slowly drops down to normal, but when I'm like in a stop light it wants to turn off and some times it does sometimes it doesn't. Can some one help me out and tell me what is the problem is and can I fix it at home. Thanks anything helps.

 

So basically your car has a really low rough idle.. and some time's it wants to stall out?

Have you had a tune-up recently?

I would start with possibly replacing the spark plugs, running some fuel injector cleaner.. maybe seafoam the engine to get all the carb deposits out.. Clean it out real good..

If none of the above works.. There is a screw on your throttle body you can adjust your idle and turn it up just a bit..

Do you have a check engine light on?

 

A friend of mine did a tune up about a month ago hoping the problem would be solved but it didn't. The check engine light has come on on occations. We actually replaced the IACV Valve but didn't solve anything just a waist of 300 bucks!

If you have a check engine light or when it comes on.. you need to pull the code.. so we can go from there..
