drilling holes in painted fender?
I'm about to add some of my buddies prototype bumper fittings and i have to drill into the fender in order to mount them. What would be the best procedure? The hole only needs to be about an 1/8". What about for the OEM front bumpers? I need to drill into both of these without cracking the paint.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I have absolutely no body work experience but from the articles/how-tos I've seen over the years, I'd say to tape off the spot that you have to drill and drill through the tape. I think the tape acts almost as another layer to sandwich the paint. There is probably some other better way, but this is what I've seen.

I dont know how it would work on a bumper but since they're flex additive in bumper paint, it should be less prone to flaking off around the hole. I'd call up a body shop and just ask them, get it straight from the horse's mouth
