Default Blew Up Clutch ................AGAIN DAMMITT

so last nite i was driving around , having some fun on highway on and off ramps , the car as at around 180* water temp , ( just saying it was warm at the time )
Then i went to the local dunkin deeznuts , hung out for about an hour ,
Went to go start the car , it started , but as soon as i moved My **** (LOLZ) into first ,
Something sounded like my belts atea Foam cup . Which is entirely possible being that its NY and everyone throws coffee cups everywhere ,
When we popped the hood , there was nothing ,
So a buddy held the hood open for me and listened or the sound ,
*tried* to put it in first same foam cup sound from the trans side , err IN-side .

So i towed it home , and here i am .

So my question is , any one have experience with some *HEAVY DUTY* clutches , Not an act stg 3 , or comp stg 5 , i eat those for breakfast , i need something crazy , and that can hold around 400LB of TQ , and retain daily drivability in the pedal feel .

any Suggestions ??
BTW , this was a Competition stage 5 sprung 4 puck , had it in for 4 mos. before tat i ha An ACT 4puck unsprung , actually i had those for my last 3 before the competition .

Now , any suggestions ? TIA guys

Marc and Chris both recommended the Action 1KS for me, but that may not be a good option for you. I'm NA.

Competition Stage 5 Sprung 4 Pucker. Get the CC 12 lbs fly wheel while your at it. Both should be under $500 shipped, and will handle 487 tq (and I have pushed it to more with no issues). Be warned its going to be like an on and off light switch till worn in a bit...

Ordered from https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2061316 aka boostfed, he had by far th best prices of anyone I checked with.

*Edit: I'm not sure how you "blew" this up, I use it and have in stalled it on 2 other high HP setups with no issues after nearly 9 months.

Seems like you have been overdue for a twin disc clutch for a while now.

I'm curious what kind of power he's putting down to be blowing clutches like that. Something dosn't seem right or he is simply ragging the hell out of the R and slamming gears.

also remember the more aggressive the clutch, the harder its going to be on your trans. so if you go with a more aggressive clutch, might wanna look into a flow valve too.

OS Giken Super Single... Not as aggressive as a twin disk, but way better that the usual act, clutch master, competition, etc.

g/l what ever you choose...

just wondering what makes it superior to any of those clutch's

op what is going on the clutch? are the springs coming out or is the disc going? whats going on

there is no such thing as a stock feeling clutch that can handle 400tq

and as stated a flow valve will help alot

I seem to recall a pic from the E8 paddock that would back this up.

Bingo. Jared drives his car A LOT. Of course a clutch is gonna hold up to a lot of power sitting in a garage. Have Doostur drive his car everyday, and make trips up and down the coast regularly and let's see how long his clutch lasts.

Do you ride your clutch at all? Thats the only reason I can see for you to go thru so many clutches.

5-6k of hard driven miles @ 400+ tq, although I never launch the car from a dead stop and rarely slam gears.

ever think about the tilton flow control valve? i will be investing in one even though they are around 160 , from what ive researched they save the clutch, transmission etc from alot of shock abuse

Why would anyone build that kind of HP/TQ to NOT beat it a bit? Seems kinda pointless to me unless your a) a tuner showing off your skills or b) you built your car to "prove a point, or impress others"

Drive the effn thing, and drive it hard. Otherwise, sell all that turbo crap and go back to NA... or buy a poopra...
