b18a1 burning 4 qts of oil at a time!!
My cousin bought an 1990 Integra automatic. Car was running fine for a few months. One day he was driving and now he gets smoke coming out the exhaust and alot of it. This happened to him while driving to work. Oil light turned. He put oil in it and by the time he got home which is about a 30 minute drive for him, light did not turn on however he was low on oil. He says when he turns the car on in the mourning or when cold, no smoke comes out, however once the car warms up, its starts to smoke.
Checked to see if thier was any mixture with the oil and anti freeze, checked for leaks but it was dark to do nothing. I will be tommorrow. I just wanna know possibilties on what it can be. I wanna check everything I can think of as well as what you can think of.
I never seen this situation before and I know someone with experience can help me out. I have done research, but all I'm finding is normal oil comsuption. Other things I have found is head gasket, piston rings, or valve seals. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Like I said just wanna go with an open mind on the possible things that can be going on.

If you run these types of engines to the point where the oil light comes on, that IS NOT GOOD! That light is not a "we recommend you put oil in now" light. It's more of a "start looking for a new engine" light. I ran a few junker D series engines to the point where the oil light came on (for something to do), and then pulled them apart to see what happened. Without oil, places that were metal to metal became scarred, and this speeds up oil consumption immensely. I would guess that the cylinder walls, among other things are scarred up quite a bit. Pretty much for the cost of B18A1 he might as well just buy a used one and swap the old one out. Good luck!

Do a compression test to see the health of the engine. Chances are that a valve is burnt out or the rings are fried.
Don't give up hope yet. Throw in some Lucas oil additive and get another few thousand miles out of it.

Yeah I was thinking of just swapping an engine. Its eaiser for me to do than to rip the motor apart. I think I will rip it apart to see what happened to it once I find an engine and swap it out. I'm gonna go the easy way.
