Default How do I tell which model CRX I've got?

I bought my CRX a few years back, don't remember which model it is, my title doesn't say. Is there a way I can tell from the VIN? Thanx Kevin

Read the FAQ and educate yourself. Or do a search.

This has been covered so much it isn't funny.

Most idiot proof method: check the VIN.

if it has rear drums and a 1.6 then its swapped

both the unnamed DX and HF came with a 1.5L motor(D15B2, D15B6)

the Si came with a 1.6L(D16A6)

if your motor has a black box above the intake manifold that says DPFI then you have a DX

if not its either an HF or an Si

but pictures would help much

90-91 model.
88-89 fender lights. they have screw into the fenders , instead of the push in and mount to the headlights

Just found my title, and checked it against the list posted, and should be a dx. The second set 3 numbers is ED8 which isn't listed? Rear wiper, yes. I'd love to take more pix, but it's out back of the shop, and it's like 25 dergees here in Ohio...

Thanx to all who replied, I am starting to gather parts for my motor swap, and was trying to figure out what I had, so I would know what I needed... Kevin

not unless someone swapped out the front bumper and rear tails

88-89 have orange(amber) bumper lights without the "air ducts" present in the 90-91

90-91 have clear bumper lights, with "air ducts"

I was wrong,
I think it's a 88-89 HF
Te corner lenses are 88-89, you can tell by the screws on the side. And the bumper lamps are also 88-89, you can tell by the size, the 88-89 are smaller. I'm thinking it's an HF because the op said he had a 1.6 Li, so the swap would've been more straight foward.
And the antenna mounts are different
DX and si have a metal glossy piece,
hf has a flat black plastic piece.
This is in the FAQ

you need to learn your CRX body info a bit more, or at least look at a picture of a 88-89 CRX and a 90-91, if you did this earlier you would definitely be able to tell that its a 90-91

and HF's didnt have rear wipers like his does

i think i know since i drive a 91 CRX DX

and doesn't matter if the swap would be more straight forward, any swap is possible
