Default does anybody know how to drive?

ok so i was at MIR for imports vs. domestics on sunday, there were a few different s2000's, one was stock and ran a 15,another a 14.5, and a turbocharged one ran a high 13, i donno wat was goin on, but the event was sick, seeing 9 second hatchbacks and 8 second supras spank on mustangs and camaros was just amazing, but for the s2k owners im pretty sure our cars can do better than that on the 1/4 mile, was anyone there?

I don't think that car was there. I didn't go myself but allot of friends did. MIR is a good track with usually good prep and it's almost at sea level. The cars probably should have been faster. But most s2000 owners are not willing to risk the diff on a good launch. It's hard to say why the cars were slow w/o slips, or at least reaction times and trap speeds.

i've never tried deadlaunching the S, but can you pre-load with the e-brake? some of the best launch times i got in the prelude were from a VTEC launch pre-loading with the e-brake. (where the car would normally start crawling forward, but e-brake holds the car down)

Those tires suck so bad! I have them. The tires my s2000 had on from 2000 when I got the car worked better...

I know I would be reluctant to take my car to the drags, but could spank your *** in the cones, or up the canyon.

Although this is true, stock s2000's should be hitting high 13's - 13.9 to be exact. With good, not decent drivers.

But canyons? Really? I don't know about that, anything can happen. One wrong move and you're done for, you or the person you're racing against.

As ejLday stated above, either those who ran those times just recently started or that they are just okay drivers who are getting there. Give them a few more runs, they'll have it down... I'm sure. With the power they're making compared to other cars out there, they're capable of getting close.

If you think that's an embarrassing, think about RSX-S owners. They tend to hit not even close to their stock times (i.e., 14.8). This would usually deter many of those who were looking into getting one. Also, bring more hate and disrepect to the car which I believe, is still continuing.

Just because an RSX-S, s2000 or any car out there doesn't hit close to their stock time, it doesn't mean one should move into a different car. Yeah, I wish I can tell those who attend the drag strips this. I hate it how they answer their questions by witnessing time slips of a car in particular. They do know they are just like every other driver? Not those professionals who actually tested the car and made a report in how it performed in the solaom (sp?), straight line, etc.

S2000's hitting 9's... And your point? I don't know what this has to do with anything.

The OP was just wondering how come there were those who attend the drag strip hit those times (14.5-15's). He knows the s2000 is quick, capable of hitting better times, and hitting close to stock, but would like to know if anyone was there. Also, if this is common? Which is.

And also know what you're capable of running, just need more practice as there is no skill to it really.

No kidding, but when I bought my car (used) it had some off brand wal-mart tires something like "carat fulda extremo" crap tires.. which got my stock S sideways hitting 2nd gear. I was on a budget and looking for something a bit better, so i grabbed these kumho asx POS's. A big step above what was on there. But I still managed to pull a nice little 13.9 with a 2.0 60' out of them with a full 30 psi of air.
