Can't get transmission out!!! HELP!!!!
Hello everyone. Im having problems pulling my transmission out. Its a 92 GS. I got all the trans bolts, trans mounts, and i believe two brackets out. One side, back side, is seperated a slight amount. The front of the trans, won't budge. I wigged the trans, lowered jack. NOTHING!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!
You may have 1 or more bolts left, look underneath, between the block and tranny, there is flywheel cover, make sure all the bolts are off as well as that cover.
I feels like the front of the tranmission is still bolted in. Im quite sure there is nothing still bolted in the front. I'm not sure the exact amount of bolts i pulled, I wasn't keeping count since i didnt expect to run into any problems. Iv done several transmissions at work when i worked at a dealership. (much easier on lift
) However, Iv never had such a problem on those transmissions. I'm thinking that maybe since my teg is older and prolly hasnt had the clutch done for some time perhaps the transmission is a little stuck to the block. I got a jack's under supporting both the engine and the transmission, lower to try to manuver trans out. Nothing! Doesn't want to seperate. Anyone had a similar problem!

make sure all bolts are out, clutch cover is removed, upper tranny mount and front mount removed, unhook clutch cable,
did you remove your starter?
i have a 90 and the starter bolts go into the block, remove your starter if you haven't and try if there isn't enough room to pull or its not moving, you need to unhook your other mounts and borrow a cherry picker or something to raise it up to a slight tilt you don't have to unhook anything else really just mounts,
thats what i did when i changed my clutch last year

yea i got a jack under that motor, I also got the starter out of there too. Im gonna have to take another closer look to see if i missed anything, again. lol. Im going to get started on it in the morning ill let you all know. I think i might need to lower the car a little to be able to jack the motor up a little more, its gonna be fun
Good luck bro, first time I pulled my tranny, I was by myself, no engine lift, just a jack and blocks of wood. Took me a full day to pull it out. Now i can do it in under 2 hours
haha yea. I got two jack stand and two jacks so Im not in as bad shape but its still not a peice of cake. Im at the point now where Im just trying to seperate the transmission from the block. She just dont wanna budge! Im hoping to get it out tomorrow morning!
any luck??? if not i was thinking you have removed both stiffeners, im not positive but my gs only had one stiffener which had to be removed but yours being a 92 may have two, like i said not sure but make sure they are removed other than that you may just have to pry, i had to pry mine a bit to get it out but then again i had my motor pulled and angled slightly down wards left to easily drop the tranny
Yea, I have already pulled both axels out. Im just a little afraid to pry or pull on it too much. I didnt have a chance to really work on it today, it was f***in raining all day. I'm hoping to work on it tomorrow on my day off but its suppose to rain tomorrow too. However, I did crawl under it quickly in the rain to see if there is anything i missed. I couldnt find anything! I also felt up and behind the transmission, It doesnt look or feel like anything is there. I got the motor sagging a little, held by a jack. The transmission also suppported with a jack. It just dont wanna budge. Hopefully tomorrow will go better. I'll keep posted!
o man that would be awesome. I would but i dont got a truck or anything to get it down here. Thanks tho. Im gonna have to just try something. I should be able to get it out.
I DONT KNOW WHATS BEEN SAID BUT, YUOU GOTTA DISCONNECT AROUND THE FLYWHEEL(5 HEX), PROBABLY THE STARTER, 1 MOTOR MOUNT IN THE BACK IS ACTUALLY A TRANNY MOUNT. UM, I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE THAT SERIOUS THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG.
engine stiffender, clutch cover, starter, tranny mounts one on top, one in front, all tranny bolts into block, clutch cable, and axles

yea Im thinking it just a stuck dowel, cause damn everything is [freak]ing off. two trans mounts, one to the left of trans and one in back, a few brackets, trans bolts, both axels. etc etc. I even got extra **** out of the way to try and make it easier. Well ofcorse it has to be raining but Im thinking in a little bit Im gonna suck it up and get wet. Its just damn cold
Today I was out for a couple hours working on the teg. The damn thing won't seperate from the block. I looked and re-looked for any bolts or brackets that i missed. I dont see anything. The belhousing seperates from the block about an
an eighth of an inch when rocking trans back and forth. But it just dont wanna pull out. Are their any hidden bolts that i may have missed. I took the starter out so those bolts are out. I felt behind the back side on trans and didnt feel anything! What about the shift rod/fork? Does that need to come out? Is there a bolt there holding it. The front underside of the trans is what feels the tightest. Im getting really aggreivated Iv never had so much trouble with a trans. It really feels like there is something still holding it. But i cant find anything, again i still got both trans mounts side and back completely out! atleast two brakets. and trans bolts, as well as starter, VSS, and subframes to make it easier. Please someone help!! any hidden bolts i may have missed!?!?!?!
