Default DX to Si Interior conversion question - Footrest

I am almost done converting my 1990 dx to complete Si interior. I have one question.... For the driver's side footrest, there are no screws to attach the footrest to. Has anyone every completed this swap before? Any suggestions?

I'm looking into doing the same thing. It seems like it's gonna be a drill and tap operation. Self tapping screws anybody?

I thought that self tapping screws were made for softer sheet metal (like siding etc.) but I might be wrong. How about adding some JB Weld or epoxy to strengthen it a bit and avoid vibrations. But first of all - doesn't the si floor have this mounting bulge welded in to hold the plastic, I have seen it in crx si but not sure about hatches. If I am correct you would need some sort of a bracket in there to hold the foot rest in place. Welding would provide cleanest solution, but is definitely more expensive than drill/tap/epoxy route.

My brain is jut not working right now, I need more coffee, but good luck to both of you.
