Replacing auto tranny.. what years will work?
as the title says, i'm changing my parent's auto tranny in their 98 accord ex. i need to know what years trannys will fit. it's an f23 so i know all h and f series will bolt up to the block, but I don't know the difference in solenoids/ect. Out of those years, which tranny is the best? Since i know they are known to have tranny issues and all.. i would like it to last of course. thanks in advance!
ya i knew that much.. i didn't know if the earlier model accord trannys will work. since they've used the F series for over 10 years, i was hoping an early 90's one would fit since they are cheaper and easier to come by lol. knowing my luck, not without some serious change over stuff. i don't know if the mount sits differently as well. if nothing else works i guess i'll be ordering the same year tranny
The manuals for the f-series are interchangeable. The automatics are a different story though. Even though the older automatics will bolt up, the tcm is separate (not in the ecu as in the 6th gen), so I'm not sure how much work it would be to get that to work.
