honestly i have no idea of which ecu would be better for my car, its a 92 4door civic, with a b20 block,b16 head, 95gsr tranny, most stock, besides fuel regulator,fuel gauge,dc headers, and short ram air intake,

i brought the car like this, right now its running with a p75 with an autometer rpm switch... any help would be realy apreciated, tanks....

you'd be fine with a chipped p28 but you wont be running a knock sensor then. If that p75 is a gsr one and its running fine then you'll be fine with that, if its a ls p28 though, just get a p28 and chip it

 

by chiping, you mean any program would be ok ?

and what is the two step ?

 

def use the chipped p28 cuz you can dial in exact mods to your engine and you will get better performance with it too.

 

any advice of where to get it chipped? im in LA area...

 

get a p72 (NOT p75, that is incorrect) gsr ecu and have a blast! a chipped p28 would be your best choice, but if you don't want to deal with all that mess, a stock gsr ecu will work fine.

 

so the p72 would be better, do i need to chip that one too ?

 

P75 Is a B18B/LS ECU. I know you bought the car this way, but just so you know RPM activated switches don't operate vtec correctly, you'll hear the high lift cam profile engage, but without the fuel and timing maps you wont make any more power.

Its sort of an artificial rev limiter, when your stopped and hold the gas pedal to the floor it will only rev up to whatever you have the launch limiter/two step set at. Once you start moving the engine will rev up normally, its used pretty much exclusively for drag racing.

You'll still need to chip a P72, there's really no stock ECU for your application. Honestly it doesn't matter if you use a P28, P30, or P72. Once its chipped and tuned what the ECU was originally designed for is irrelevant.
