Default question relating to tickets/citations in Chicago

so i got a citation ticket making an illegal left turn on a busy intersection during traffic hours. it was between grand and halsted. i didnt see the sign and i made the left. then a cop starts roaring through cars, caught up to me and pulled me over. its the ticket with three options where you can 1) plead guilty and pay 75 bucks, 2) avoid conviction and go to traffic school, yet still pay 115, or 3) plead not guilty and have a court hearing.

i know im guilty of making that left turn but i want to plead that i didnt see the sign and it was a stale green so i hurried into the middle intersection and made that turn. PLUS! that was my first time going down that street.

sigh..i hate northside Chicago. plus, Chicago cops are such a dick.

p.s., it was a lady cop that pulled me over. she wouldnt even let me off even though i told her i didnt see the sign and it was my first time down this street. she ended telling me that next time i should be more aware....i think she needs to get laid!

If you plea not guilty in court you will lose.

not necessarily!!! if there's no sign, take some picture from different angle, you can win, just make sure there's not a sign say no left turn, otherwise dont waste your time.

you can try to fight it, in most cases the police officer that gave you the citations needs to show up if not then case dismissed.

Except that when that is the case, Police Officers ALWAYS show up. Not only do they get paid to waste time at court, they also get in trouble if they miss a court date.

if she does show up take the traffic school and yes you can now do it online, at least in Kane county you cant. so i am sure its the same for Chicago
