Default Hondata heatshield...... question.

So if you get on hondata's website you can read about the 5 heating sources of the manifold, well I have eliminated 3 of them and the only two that I have left is the thermostat bypass and the IAC. so as far as the IAC goes really all I need to know is where I can get adapter plates so that it could be relocated and stop heating up the manifold. Now when we are talking about the thermostat bypass, this is the coolant hose that goes through the manifold from the head. my question is 1. has anybody ever done this and what did they use for it (something like a freeze plug) 2. are you aware of any problems like maybe hot spots on the head
I guess really that is all I need to know but if you have had any experineces with this or no somebody that has please pipe in cause hondata wont write me back.

t1racedevelopment or t1raceparts.com has the IAC relocator that you are looking for!

alot of race cars do this and even some street cars also. That hose is not needed if you are not running a heater core or heater in your car.

if you have a aftermarket manifold like the edlebrock victorx manifold the thread pitch is a 3/4 npt thread.

I did this mod aswell now i just need to block the fitting on the thermostat housing with some weld!

Thanks for the info.. I just want to make sure that we are talking about the same coolant line, cause my heater core line came out the side of the head under the vtec pressure switch, and the one I am talking about literlly comes out the head through the hondata gasket and manifold and down to the thermostat housing. the only reason I ask is cause if you read on hondata's website you will that they say the car will over heat if you dont drill 10 small holes in the thermostat to compensate for the bypass. thanks again

interested in this as well. Not sure what that coolant bypass hose is there for or if it's needed. Water will still circulate through the head without that hose.

Also was thinking that instead of using a freeze plug/weld the unused coolant ports, to use some leftover coolant hose and plug it with a bolt and some hondabond. Think that would hold the pressure?
