Proper D-bar location and positioning??!!??
Can you guys post pics of how your "d-bars" are mounted on your NHRA approved cages. At this point is it still legal to run a bar across the floor for the d-bars to attach to? In my case I'm 6'3 280lbs, so I need as much room as possible so I have the main hoop mocked up on the upper tray (most people mount them on the lower floor behind the seats). If anyone could post some pics if they have a similar setup that would help us out alot. Here's some pics of how it is currently mocked up. Disregard how the d-bars are currently sitting in there, the guy welding the cage wasn't sure on how they should be mounted on a unibody car so we already know they aren't correct
So will that main hoop not work where it is currently located? Then it seems like the d-bars would be angled forward. Thanks for the info

I don't think it is TECHNICALLY a rule........yet
I had a rocker bar setup and my cage was passed without d-bars. But me being who I asked my fabricator to install d-bars.
let me tell you that I had my cage inspected at NHRA and not just a regular inspector.

i think its one or the other type of deal. I've seen cages with just D-bars get passed though. The techs at NHRA believe that D-bars will perform better that a rocker setup.
I remember the fabricator and the inspector having a discussion about it.
Take it to them and see what they say.
