Default Honda MTF, new?

The pictures below was taken from another honda forum. I came across it while searching for Honda MTF. I've never come across this particular Honda MTF. The one I've used is in a black bottle.

Honda made a new formula (and the bottle changed appearance too) a few years ago to mostly help with the K series' weak transmissions.

The addition of friction modifiers helped with all modern Honda manual gearboxes, including the six speed on the big J motors on the Accord and TL.

Honda believes that the indtroduction of the improved formula, at almost no additional cost to Honda, saved them millions of dollars from fixing warranty problems on six cylinder, six speeds.

In most cases, just switching to the new formula solved the jump-out and balky engagement issues on these big transmissions. Honda (and Acura in North America) were trapped otherwise, because their standards called for replacing or fixing any number of transmissions when the owners had these kinds of complaints. The field engineers were coming back saying, "I wouldn't want to drive it like that."

Since the new oil formulation fixed so many of the problems, it was a no brainer for Honda.

I believe Honda Canada has their oils bottled elsewhere hence a black bottle in Canada however the label still shows new formula. Bought a few bottles in Buffalo and they were gray.

Hello,

I have just bought MTF in Honda shop in Florida and it looks like there is a new bottle. Is it true or I've bought a fake one? There is no information about "Idemitsu company"

Have you already seen such bottles?

I use it in my jdm itr tranny and love it. The new formula is good stuff. I went with it because it is not as thick as gm synchromesh and it's oem designed for our tranny. Honda knows their ****.

HONDA updated there bottles for everything now. That doesnt mean its different and that doesnt mean all your stores dont have a lot of the old bottles and are trying to get rid of them.
