i have to replace my 5th gear in my tranny and was wondering if there we other trans that i could use the gear out of. i know there are some f22 trans at the junk yard right now. also what all would i need to buy to replace 5th gear and were could i get the parts. if i have to ill put the f22 tranny in until i get mine fixed. any input would be helpful......also just wanted to say is it weird that everything with my tranny feels good it just wont go into 5th gear doesnt grind going in just wont go in. it did this as soon as i put the swap into my eg. maybe its something else im not sure.

 

make sure the linkage isnt bent or something.. make sure its 100% right.. could be something very simple.. try to hold out of swaping a gear out, u might not even need that.. start off small and use process of elimination untill u get to the most drastic step

 

have you ever heard of linkage problems like that though hopefully ill take my linkage off and manually try to put it into 5th gear and it will go in... do you know how to adjust h series linkage or trannys

 

no iv never heard of that directly... but think about it.. u had a perfectly fine trans and motor... then swaped it and it wont go into 1 out of 6 gears (includeing reverse) its more then likly something very simple..

just b.c it went from a lude to a hatch wont all a sudden make the trans stop working correctly.. know what i mean?.

 

i heard that having low tranny fluid 5th gear is the first not to receive oil and i got the car with the swap in it..it just wasnt running yet and because of how the motor is not offset anymore in the eg im thinking that the tranny might not have enough oil in it. but i havent heard of anyone else with h22 in eg having a problem with this so it is probably something simple hopefully. not to many people seem to have eg with h22 atleast no one with tranny problems...thanks for the input

 

its common for the synchros go in the h22 transmissions, I heard of people having trouble getting it into 5th, you have to double clutch? clutch in, neutral, clutch out, clutch in, gear ,clutch out?

 

no i tried that it just wont go in.all other gears feel good.idk what it is
