New tires! Will post a review for later info!
I ordered my Dunlop Direzza DZ101 tires and should get them later on this week. I am going to be running 205/55/15 on the stock wheels (yeah, stock). I opted for these because of the performance ratings/price.
I will post a review in about a month when I have had time to experiment with them.
I also plan on running 1/4 inch wheel spacers so I will post pics of how it looks, etc for all you guys!

Hey. There is plenty of tech involved in the review. And plus the info will do us all with EPs a lot more good. People with an S2000 or an EF are going to have different results than an EP. And I mentioned the use of wheel spacers so I will be posting the results, looks, etc of those too.
G Force T/A is a pretty broad statement considering they make like 4 or 5 forms of the G force T/A.
And like I said, I went with the DZ101s cause of price/performance. Being able to get the tires for 76 bucks a piece was a perk.
The DZ101 are good tires for the price... I would of went with the Kumho SPT as they are the best bang for the buck tire but the DZ101 are good too!

Again, the Direzza, ES100, SPT, etc are good tires, but are outperformed by spending a marginal amount more. I bought the set of BFGs, mounted and balanced, with road hazard warranty for $670. They have a treadwear rating of 300, the same as my previous Falken FK452s, so they should last a year and a half or so, which is a good deal.
I look forward to the review of the Direzzas. They actually were the tires that the shop tried to sell me when I bought my wheels.
Just bought N7000 205/40/17s for honda del sol. Looks sweet. Forgot to read the fine print regarding road hazards and promptly had my first blowout with tires inflated at 40lbs within one week. Must readjust headlight alignment to give myself adequate time to react and increase tire pressure. It went ssssssssssssssss. No rim damage, though. Strong sidewall.

I got a great deal on some Goodyear Eagle F-1 GSD-3 tires only $49 each instead of Discount's $199 a piece. They are one of the grippiest tires I've had out of the many, even in rain. I had some of the same dunlops you have for awhile and they were pretty good for me.
^^ You mean *tread life?
I have these same Dunlop tires on my new SSR wheels (thanks Todd00!) but they won't be on my car until spring
I'm expecting lots of grip, not lots of treadlife.
However, I did have the BFG g-Force rubbers on my Integra and they were sickkk for the money. Broke an axle in half on a hard launch with them

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal! Im getting new tires in the next week or so and are debating between dunlop z1 star specs, BFG G force t/a KDW, or kumho ecsta mx's. Good luck with your new tires!
Yeah, I guess my post was relatively cryptic. I'm in the process of testing 17" wheels on a honda del sol vtec (mini cooper bolt ons) with Trazano(Nexen)N7000, 205/40/17s. I had the misfortune a hitting a road hazard left in the middle of the road by a homeless person (wasn't him) and sustained a blowout at the intersection of the tread and the sidewall. Rode deflated tire short distance and sustained no rim damage or visible sidewall damage. The tiretest site gave good reviews for this tire for those with sports cars. My personal favorite curve on the way to work consists of a declining radius, double apex which then opens after the second apex. Posted speed is 35mph and I can take it at 70mph so far. We'll see what happens when I finish reworking the suspension.
All lower-end tires. The DZ101 is V rated. The ES100 and SPT are both out performed according to tirerack.com's consumer survey. As a matter of fact the BFG g-Force T/A KDWs outperform all tires in the list in dry traction except for the Advan A046, which is over double the price of the BFG.
A far, far better comparison is their comparison test results, where they test tires side by side at the same place and time, on the same cars. And the DZ101 did not do anywhere near as well as the Kumho SPT or Yokohama S.drive, as noted here. Neither did the KDW2, as noted here.

Those are three fairly different tires. The Star Spec is about the stickiest street tire you can buy, perfect for those who care only about dry traction, such as those who take their cars to an occasional track event or autocross and/or who drive their cars hard on the street. Downsides are that treadlife is just okay and it's okay in the rain but not the very best (although in both respects it's better than the Falken Azenis). The KDW is more of a longer-lasting daily driver tire, nowhere near as sticky as the Star Spec on dry pavement, but it will do better in rain and last longer; however, as noted above, the KDW is also overpriced considering that you can get the same performance for about half the cost with the Kumho SPT and Yokohama S.drive, if you're looking for something longer-lasting than the Star Spec. The Kumho MX is not really competitive with the Star Spec - the Star Spec does everything better and doesn't cost any more - which is why Kumho is discontinuing the MX and has introduced the much better XS to replace it in their lineup.
i love these tires. i am running them now and will probably get another set for the summer...even with the price a little higher i still dont mind, the quality and grip of them is amazing...i also have a set of nitto 555's they are no where near as good as my eagle f1's. if your gonna spend the money on a good quality, long lasting street tire...GD Eagle F1 FTW IMO

Two things you should be aware of. One, Goodyear makes a variety of tires with the Eagle F1 name on them, including summer tires, all-seasons, etc. Two, the F1 GS-D3 mentioned above has been discontinued. You can still find them in some sizes, not in others. The Tire Rack no longer has the 2004 production of 205/50-16 that they were selling for such a low price.
Look at the name on the sidewalls.
Some sizes of the F1 GS-D3 are still available. Others aren't. I would imagine that they will continue to drop sizes in the near future. (Goodyear's new top summer tire is their F1 Asymmetric.)

i wasnt expecting such an easy answer lol, but these are the exact ones i have and that sux *****...i guess i will have to find somewhere that has them in my size before they are all gone
