Maybe i need to change transmission fluid???
Hey guys!! i have a 08 FA5....and i know there has been a big pain in the a$$ with the 3rd gear problem amongst us... even my friend's 08 FG has the problem (well pops rarely but gets notchy as hell
) after rolling 4K miles and his is not even under the VIN range... he says he is gonna try out AMSOIL, but what a deal....
Well, mine does not have any problem....maybe because i bought this only 2 months ago and has only 2000 miles on or maybe im not under the VIN range....
BUT, what do you guys think of me changing my tranny fluid??? even tho i do not have any problems, would having amsoil be a better choice?? after seeing my friend's car, i'm starting to think too much...lol
anywayz, thanks alot guys

you want to change your fluids b/c your car is working properly???
your car is fine, just wait til 30k and then do amsoil. amsoil helps a bit, but if your car is running fine, no need to change. be glad that you dont have the 3rd gear problem and leave your car alone.

if you change your own oil, might as well do it yourself if for the added peace of mind. i don't have a tranny problem either in my 08 si sedan, but i didn't see any harm in doing so. it's even listed in the owners manual.
when my b service light came up @ 18k kms/11.2k miles and 6 months old, i changed the tranny fluid with new honda mtf and a magnetic drain bolt. i decided to stay with oem fluid because the transmission is stock and i didn't want amsoil to mask any problems. i'm going to continue changing it when the B comes up. i felt a difference after i changed it, but it could have been in my head....
whatever you choose to use, clean fluid is better than dirty fluid, imo.
