Crimestopper Milennium FX. great range, easy install, but the damn thing needs major diode isolation when adding it onto a pre-existing alarm.

It can also work without an alarm and includes antenna and all connections (including a pinswitch for your hood)

My personal range is about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile depending on location, its actually quite amazing.

Door, Hood, Trunk, Remote Start/Ignition, High and Low impact are constantly monitored and it tells you when your out of range.

Its a littler bigger than the compustart one, and the sounds are really much more worse (single beeps for everything where compustart has tones)..it does have a vibrate feature though.

$89 cant go wrong

no such thing as a good alarm pager. no one has perfected it yet. alpine gave up after years of research and testing. no matter who makes them, they tend to be unreliable, annoying, and expensive for something thats not 100%.

It's not that they can't make them. It is just hard to make a really good one that complies with the damn FCC rules and is still cost effective.

Can you tell us why they are unreliable?
Is it they false very often, or....?

You can check out anything made by DEI, that would be Viper, Python, etc... or Clifford (now owned by DEI). For an extra 150, you can get a pager for any alarm. Not cheap (alarm + 150) but, you didn't mention being economical about it...

Chris, who believes that you get what you pay for.

Teken: Your going to have to explain this to me a little better...
for the past 11 years i've been installing stereos, alarms, nav, mobile electronics, blah blah blah, i have never worked with a reliable alarm pager. They work great in an environment like a farm or somewhere where there is no interference from other sources of electricity. The congestion of airwaves nowadays doesn't make it any better with cel phones, wireless LANs, and other 802.11 products. I have even seen cases where a microwave has set off car alarms with radar sensors and even a cel phone in the car that sets it off as well. Now pager companies have claimed to have a ranges between a couple thousand feet and 1 mile. That will work great in an open field but chances are, you'll be in a mall, movies, restaurant, in your home, or wherever. The pager transmitter (or built in an alarm) does not have the power to generate through thick *** walls and buildings. Keep in mind that your car has only a 12V battery and produces maybe a few hundred watts to setoff your pager. I hope to see a great car alarm pager, and if anyone reading this post has heard of anything that is reliable (i mean 100%) please let me know. I've been waiting a long time for a reliable pager to come out.

1)What brands have you installed, and please explain how it was installed into the vehicle...
2)even seen cases where a microwave has set off car alarms with radar sensors and even a cel phone in the car that sets it off as well.
Teken: That statement has nothing to do with alarm pagers, more so with the shock sensors...

3)that your car has only a 12V battery and produces maybe a few hundred watts to setoff your pager.

Teken: That would be a maximum of 4 watts, not hundreds of watts, as it is governed by the FCC... There are very few that transmit all 4 watts, many only transmitt 2.2 watts for a 60 second paging duration...
1) Alpine, Autopage, DEI, Clifford, and VSE when they were around. What do you mean "how was it installed?" If you're refering to the antenna, i used the car antenna and also have tried stand alone antennas.
2) I'm just giving examples of interference.
3) I did use the word "maybe" in there. I may have exagerated a tad. You're right, I'm wrong. email me more about this live wire system. I'm curious to see what you did.

seeing as your actively checking this tekken and others that are knowledgeable (not meaining to deviate too much from the thread)

but more about this Matching antenna to system thing, i saw an antennae signal meter for about $25 used at a pawn shop around here...do you basically put the meter on a deck and fiddle with your antenna positions/type until you get the strongest signal?

Now is sort of the best time for me to do this, because my dash is still apart from my ongoing stereo/alarm install and the antennas have not been mounted.

Any other tips on placement would be great as usual )

As always Teken
You have to much time on your hands and a lot of patience

Besides the things Teken mentioned another way to get extended range is to change the carrier frequency to a less crowded one. Be careful though because it is illegal to use certain frequencies. Damn FCC.
