BRIGHTON COLORADO>>>>well tonight my car was hit by a drunk driver parked in front of my house.. the guy took off but after i got the news i was headed to my house to check out the damage and i seen the guy who hit me (i live in a small town and wasnt too hard to see the smashed up front end, so i followed the guy and i stopped and talked to him, it turns out that i knew the guy and i asked what happened and he said he hit a parked car.. so i went to my house and gave the cops my information along with the decription of the car that hit my prelude and his name.. well im sure that jackass doesnt have insurance and i know my car is totaled, he pushed my car a good 30 feet to where it rests now on the curb. i am completly torn up, and i hate to had see this happen to my car. ive only had it for 2 months!!! i dont have full coverage on my lude, so i think im goin to part it out.. i got full leather seats, nearly perfect condition, nearly everything is in GREAT condition, the h22a1 has 179000, fresh oil, i believe the cam barrings need replaced and has a very small oil leak.. i am putting steelies on it tomorrow so i can at least salvage my rims, but let me know if you need anything, but you have to come to me.. pics posted below will add more tomorrow...

if you dont have full coverage... put a new bumper on and shaza'am?

 

its worse then that.... the trunk is tanked, the latch for the trunk is pushed in about 6 inches and i barely got it open to clean the trunk out now it wont latch shut.. both rear quarter panels are buckled all the way up right behind the passenger and driver door..

 

damn bro its really sad to see chit like this happen, you should check to see if you can take any legal action against this person. Drinking and driving is very dangerous thing.

well i did call the cops and the guy that hit me had temp tags but a suspended license so HOPEFULLY he has insurance, if not im goin to have to sue which i hate to do because i almost guarantee that he dont have the money to pay me for it and id hate to garnish any wadges or anything i just hope he has insurance ill be preying tonight.....

 

its drivable, nothing mechanically is wrong with it just alot of body damage and im sure the frame is bent in the rear, not really sure but he hit me with enough force to push me close to 30 feet.. i just wished none of this woulda happened im completly sick over this bullshvt.. i am goin to have a body shop look at it and see what they think cuz i would love to just fix it even though i only paid 1500 for the car and could possibly get 4500 out of the insurance company (if he has insurance)

 

i can't really tell from the pics, but it doesn't seem like there's any suspension damage.. i think you'll be okay if you bend everything back and bondo. (cheap fix) but for a car you only paid 1500 for, that's probably the best solution. good luck

 

I'd try to fix it. Bend out the dents, and use filler. to fix all that its likely a used trunk (100-300 dollars or get a new cf one ( I think they make them in CF)), filler probably a **** load, sander/sand paper, primer and paint. Or take it to a shop for probably 12--1500 dollars I would estimate at an average shop. New bumper, new trunk. Hows the bumper bar anyway? Is the frame all squished at the back?? I'd try to drive it and see how she goes. IF it runs fine and drives straight, than fix it up!.

thats freaking gay, I'd sue the kid no matter what. What bullshit. OHHH, and what the *** you doing parking a sweet car like that on the road?? lol, jk, I am sorry what happend man!!

 

UPDATE, so the guy that hit me doesnt have insurance but he knows people that work at a body shop here in town.. he wants to fix the damage out of pocket, so i gave him some places he can get the rear bumper, trunk, and tailights, and monday i am going to make him sign an agreement that states he is either going to fix my car or pay me 3500 (thats what i feel it was worth, even though kbb is 4490) and ill give him the title, the agreement is goin to be notarized, and if he doesnt want to do that ill send the cops after him.. but what i found out is that wasnt even his car he hit me with it was his girlfriends step dads or somthing so technically i cant prove it was him driving, its my word against his.. but a few months ago i heard he wrecked his friends new mazda 6 into a garage and took off, so he has 2 felony counts of criminal mischeif or somthing like that thats why he was so worried about me callin the cops.. but here are some more pics, the bumper support is straight, just the gas tank looks a little dented in, and the metal above the bumper where the closes is dented in. theres pics of it but is kinda hard to tell.. the part im mostly pissed off about is the rear quarter panels are pretty bad. i just hope this guy fixes my car!! oh and it was parked in the street because we already have only a one car garage and a one car drivway, so that leaves both of my cars in the street, the prelude and my ford focus

 

hey b4 u part it out.. take a pic of the gaps in the trunk to the QT pannel... i mean i need to see more angels but id say just looking at the right side qt .. ur A$$ end isnt swung over to bad and could be fixed cheaper then u think...

I do want to fix it! i just dont want to have to pay for the damages i didnt cause myself.. ill take some more pics tomorrow or monday.. my concern is this guy that hit me is going to have a body shop start work on it and not end up paying for it when its all done and over with.. then itll be on me to sue his *** so my car can be released. and isnt the dents on the left side quarter panel pretty bad? i dont know enough about bodywork and what can be straightened and what cant.. i am just so upset about all this ****.. that car had 2 very small dents in it before on the hood and thats it.. now its got a little blemish on the rear lol just hope everything goes well and this jackass dont stiff me out on this **** because if i cant get him to sign an agreement, then they technically cant prove he was driving in this accident. i just wished i could have got the license plate number of the car he was driving.

the dents are not physicaly THAT bad... what im more worried about is the rear body pannel, i can tell that the rear body pannel needs a pull, and some straighting, (or maybe even a pull then replaceing) but iv seen some hard rear end hits sim. to yours and the total job only be like 1800-2400 dollars..

i can understand u not wanting to pay for it, im just trying to say some hard hits are easyer to fix then u think.. but then again some shops rip u off 2.. go get some free estimates if u dont wanna lose it... and part it out if you do.. its up 2 you
