prelude and Civic Si wheelss
So appearently I must havec been mis-informed...I saw a 5th gen Prelude in the auto trader a few weeks back with '06-'08 Civic Si wheels. It look decent. So I bought some used '06-'08 Civic Si wheels and they dont fit in the front. there's not enough clearance the caliper hits the wheel jusst barely. Anybody else have this problem t correct?
How big of wheel spacers would anyone suggest?
Is it safe to roll with wheel spacers (espicall on the front)?
Or is this just a waste of time and should I try to make my $$ back and sell the wheels?

your a honda tech member and made a boo-boo like that? lol sorry man. Why would you not ask that before you bought the wheels though??
I do see lots of guys running offsets, I'm not sure if thats going to solve the issue
Grind down the calipers a bit (if it is only a bit), not rocket science. Just don't take off too much in areas where your going to weaken its strength. Repaint them of course so they don't rust.
Use common sence, and if you have to, ask questions! Take pics too and post if you can so we can see how bad the clearance is.
I've wondered about civic wheels too. I've heard that some of them are interchangeable with prelude ones. Just depends purely on the design
I am only suggesting grinding if the calipers are nothing fancy(ie stock in typical "used" condition) and if you don't want to lose the money off reselling those wheels. I don't think its a great idea to grind down calipers but if its only a 1/8th or 1/4 of an inch at most, (at the main assembly is where your rubbing likely?) it would probably be safe wouldn't it?? good luck either way with those!

i have a set of '00 S2000 wheels that i am going to rock on my 5th gen. the rear S2000's are going on the rear wheels of my prelude though as im not trying to run any kind of spacer setup.
I tried to put the rear s2000 tires on the rear of my 5th gen, but it didnt work for me. It rubbed against the wall, and had no clearance. I had a slightly small clearance with the rear tires on the front of my lude without the spacers, but I heard some knocking noises when I turn. With spacers up front worked the best for me. Unless suspension is a little different on a 97 lude compared with its older models.
