well it's my girls car and it's a little laggy trying to start up both cold and warm. but if i put my jumper cables attached to my car on it there's no lag???

it's a 95 accord

what battery is suppose to be in it it's new but maybe her dad didn't buy the right one?? or maybe something else is just lagging it out..

what do i check first?

 

1st) Battery cables - (Remove, clean and tighten).
2nd) battery Charge - (recharge the %$#^ Battery).
3rd) Alternator output - 13.8 to 14.2 volts (Higher OR lower, start asking why)

my brother just got his battery replaced ... his car had the exact same symptom ... one day the battery drained [because he's stuck in the 90's with his gay *** big bass systems] and it never got charged properly ... causing it to take a crap ... it only was only able to hold 9 volts lol

 

it is also possible he bought a bad battery to begin with....if the battery is shaken around to much or put on the ground it will kill the cells inside...i would take it back to the store and get another one
