Default 1996 odyssey cassette deck in 2001 accord ex

Greetings, people!

I just bought a 2001 Honda Accord v6 EX coupe. Everything is just peachy except the stock head unit (Cassette/CD changer) wasn't working when I purchased it so I had to send it in. For the past 3 weeks I've been living with a hole in my dash. yeah, more like a hole in my head. I can't drive without at least a radio. This is terrible. I have a vehicle of top trim and am forced to keep a freakin harmonica in the armrest to keep myself from death by boredom{:'^[

My question is - I have in my possession a cassette deck from my sister's 1996 Honda Odyssey and I'd like to temporarily wire it to the harness that sticks ot of my accord's instrument panel. I DO understand that the connectors are different in design between these two generations, but assuming both units are by Honda, there ought to be some way of connecting one with the other!

Can this be done? Will I need an adapter of some sort, or may I just run some pieces of 26GA wire from hole to hole on connectors? Will I need additional equipment to hook them up?

Thank you in advance! I've already read inside and out most of the relevant articles on the internet. So finally I decided to turn to you guys. Any help will still be greatly appreciated!

NR

go to your local car stereo shop and buy a normal (female style) harness to plug into your factory accord radio's plugs, and a male style that will plug into the 96 deck. If youre going to a place that carries metra (most places) the part numbers will be 70-1721 and 71-1720. Then crimp/solder the two together, plug it all in, and voila!

thanks man,
I've got a few places in mind. I'll make a trip this weekend. By the way, any idea as to how much these may cost? I know they're only cables but being genuine honda parts they might just have a "genuine honda pricetag"

oop!
problem solved. Since I was looking for a TEMPORARY solution, I "leased" a 5.1 home theater system from FRY's and planted it into the car through a 200W AC/DC smoker converter. Works amazingly.
