when car is under acceleration and let off to shift i hear a knock noise or if i tap the brake real fast i will hear a knock noise like a marble or something. im not sure if its the axle but i tore my cv boot and im thinking its one of the joints in the axle that has gone bad. its not coming from the engine. any ideas?

 

When your CV boot tears, it lets all that precious grease splatter all over the place, and more importantly it let's the joint itself dry up. If you're certain that your CV boot is torn, I'd put my money on that.

 

could a bad axle cause a small transmission leak? im just wondering if it could cause that to happen

if the axle seal is bad
