Im planning to buy an integra 94-01 and was wondering what problems I should look for that are specific to that model? Most of the ones in my area are 100k+ miles and Im planning to buy from a private party.

 

FRAME DAMAGE!
color of fluids and maintenance records
Ripped mounts
water leaks especially from tail lights and passenger side cowl
imfamous honda rust on rear quarter panels, maybe hood too
LCA and trailing arm bushings
valve cover and head gasket leaks
temp gauge at 4/9 when completely warm and idling
climate control hot/cold meter not broken
window rattles
ripped axles
header bolts snapped
clutch master and slave cylinder leaks
clutch disc
transmission shifting smoothness and grinds while driving in gear(especially >5rpms in 3rd)
tires
brakes
bogging/surging at idle

that's all i can think of right now lol

 

another thing. check to see if the engine is warm prior to you arriving meaning see if its already warm when you arrive. it could have some sort of weird problems prior to warm up that you whould encounter the next day or in the winter. also after warm up nail it up to about 4 grand in neutral and see if any kind of anything comes out of the tail pipe. also a car with over 100k is not bad just make sure its low 100s run a carfax and make sure the t-belt has been changed. after you check all that and still like it love it buy it.

 

^^^^^^^^ that covers most of it but also check for zip ties holding things together like the bumper to fender because i had that problem and make sure to really check around the interior for water spots in carpet or rust in the trunk to make sure there are no water leaks from when it rains
