Default Intake "shootout" dyno tuning different setups (need sponsors)

I have several intake systems on hand and wanted to dyno tune my N/A modded GSR 190+ WHP to see which one would work best....woudl anyone be willing to back me up on this one?

The intakes I'll be testing are the:
1) AEM ITR CAS
2) comptech icebox
3) Short ram
4) any intake set-up you would like to donate.

Did a small one myself.

Iceman vs Stock vs AEM vs Homemade. WIll have an Icebox here tomorrow but I have since put on a JDM 4-1 so I will only be able to compare AEM to Icebox and possibly Iceman again. Would be happy to test an Injen if someone had an extra.

In place of the short ram, I would dyno the AEM short ram. 95% of the aftermarket short rams use 3" piping, while AEM uses 2.5/2.75/3" for whatever motor/gear ratio/etc. that car uses.

Example....AEM uses 2.75" piping for the 99-00 Civic Si. For the 94-95' Del Sol DOHC, they use 2.5". They said they used bigger piping for the Civic Si due to the gear ratios.

I would like to see the Apexi or HKS filters alone attached to the factory intake hose. I bet those two might do better than most short ram systems (even some that included K&N cone filters).

I would like to see a "shootout" for a high power motor. NO stock motor! A motor making at least 190WHP.

try:
-no intake or filter
-K&N drop in stock airbox w/ RESONATOR
-K&N drop in stock airbox w/ NO resonator

Did these but no one seems to like my results.

I think he should definitely do these to see if my results hold water!

And I already did the AEM vs Injen vs Comptech Icebox last year...although it was on a stock car...did the AEM vs Comptech Icebox with a tuned car and lost power with the AEM...just need to get the dyno plots next time I'm around the shop.

with K&N I gained about 1-1.5 whp.

Without the resonator I lost 3-6 whp (3 on my 2000 R and 6 on my 98 R)

well that proves my understanding of intakes correct, then. the resonator chambers actually manipulate sound waves to essentially force more air in. In effect, acting like a very low boost "supercharger". this is only good for a stock motor however, since it is tuned for that specific engine.
Your test results were very good and accurate.

No arguements from me but you get all the guys who alreayd took it out and are making more noise who want to believe they are making more power who get their panties in a wad when I post those dyno plots.

Woudl love for someone else to do this test, I only did it on 2 different R's

Hey Charlie, after all this time, you still only went to the track once? I got a little something all motor that came out recently at the last event. Your all motor monster vs my pretty much stock all motor monster in the 1/4 miles, when is it going to happen? After all you had the car tunned by Greg, should be moving out. Just busting your chops buddy, how you been? The intake test would be an interesting thing to see.

Yeah I only went to the track like once or twice....yeah I know I'm terrible... My car also has a tranny thats failing....shifting aint so great....for daily driving its okay but for drag, the car doesnt want to go into gears. I been okay just been working a lot and paying my bills and putting minor mods here and there.
