Default H2B w/ Rear Disc Conversion

'98 Civic Ex Coupe

I am planning to do a engine swap but was courious if everyone was upgrading their rear brakes from drum to disc. I know there is a debate regarding stopping distance between drums vs disc. What are peoples thoughts? Rear disc conversions aren't cheap, not necessairly expensive either, but if I can use that money elsewhere I'd rather do so. Thanks.

My eg H2b has drum in the rear. Its not that great trying to stop from 100+ but i dont street race so i dont need to stop that fast. It works fine for me just depends on what your trying to accomplish

Did you upgrade the front at all? I want rear disc for the ease of replacing them but the money I could spend on them could be put towards a tranny. I'm just trying to plan my purchasing. If they don't increase the breaking distance I'll hold off until after the swap.

If all you're looking for is ease of change, don't bother doing it. It's not much easier to replace disc pads as opposed to shoes.

Just put quality stuff in there, you'll stop fine. You're only looking at a 65 or so hp increase. Would you upgrade your brakes if you only put a nitrous kit on it?
