Perhaps many of you can use this opportunity to personally thank those who have had a direct impact on you while owning your car, both past and present. Most of you understand that owning an ITR doesn't really mean squat anymore with regards to feeling like you are a part of this community. Please feel free to chime in. I have wanted to do this for a long time now, and i apologize for those that i leave out. These are in no particular order.
First and foremost a great friend who probably won't even read this. Brian Hemperly, truly one of the best honda mechanics i have ever met. Brian and i became friends through no other than owning a honda. He has assisted me with almost every single project, modification and repair that has ever been done on all of my vehicles. I know what little i do about cars bc of him. Thank You Brian.
Opie, a great friend who would give the shirt off his back to help me at anytime. We became e-friends many years ago also bc of the common ITR bond, and have never looked back since. Anytime i am remotely close to NYC we both make an effort to meet up.
Marc Tran (BlueR), is there anyone not familiar with the loyalty of Marc to this community. Huge player is helping each and everyone one of us mod our cars with our own taste and style. Also a great friend who always makes an effort to meet up when i am in NYC. If you have never eaten Flor de Mayo then go visit Marc.
Len, who stayed with me years ago for the first time on a random visit going North. We kept in touch and just a year or so later he picked me up from the airport in Atlanta to pick up the ITR i purchased just outside the city. A wonderful guy with a huge heart to serve each and everyone of us as best he could while working at the dealership.
Jetydosa (Stephen Turner), who i stayed with following the pick up of my ITR the same evening Len picked me up from the airport. Not only did i stay at the HotelDosa, but he even let me park my ITR inside his garage the night i got it. He moved his outside to block mine in, what a selfless act that was. I will never forget that Stephen. Thank You so much for going to check out the car prior to me flying down to take delivery as well. We miss you around here man.
Chris Nicastro (Chris N), who has been nothing but an ******* the entire time i have known him, but a great guy who has been there for me anytime i have ever needed to know something about the intrawebz. If it wasn't for Clitz i would have never become involved in EXPO planning which i have sincerely enjoyed.
Will and Jack Harris, great family who i am privilaged to know. Will sat shotgun for my first on track experience as my instructor at E5. Handsdown one of the best HPDE instructors i have ever had. Great guy who has been here a long time. Jack is ok too haha. Jack, great tuner, extremely compotent driver and would help any of you when you need it most.
Wes Moore (White Dragon), who has officiated EXPO for us all since E5. Wes has put in a lot of time and effort to help better the event each and every year. Wes has a tough role as the labeled Leader of things, and has had to step up and time and time again throughout the difficult planning stages of EXPO. Thanks Wes.
Mugen Mike, good bud who helped ensure i didn't pass away in my hotel room during E6. For those who don't know or don't remember, i got very very sick that year. Mike has also played a role in EXPO planning, you guys can thank him for helping get shirts made very last minute the past two years. He has always come through with those. Thanks Mike.
Yoshi Morimoto, who i met once... yes once at E5. We kept in touch over the past couple of years and he was kind enough to fit me into his busy schedule this year to shoot my wedding. It felt like we picked up from exactly where we left off. Yoshi...looking forward to coming out to Weho, CA sometime in the near future. Thanks a million for the outstanding job you did with our memorable day!
Bbasso (Rob), who has also been a longtime friend of the forum. Rob has always offered to meet up anytime i was in the NYC area. He actually went as far as to give Jess and i a personal driven tour around the city while waiting for a Big Phat Greek Birthday party to begin one cold February evening i think it was.
Tartje (Geoff White) , who set up the UK-ITR meet for me while i was abroad back in late 2005. Geoff, has kept in touch all of the time. Every single time there has been an important event in my life Geoff's 1000 digit number is blowing up my phone to express his sincere congrats, sadness, whatever it may be. Thanks for being a great friend, you are welcome over here anytime you can afford it bro.
The list could go on and on and on with people like Jay Haire (cheezthis), Ryan (CanuckR), Ken (NSXtasy), Mike (attentionwhore), Jim (Walker111), Midget (Dave B), Victor Perri (dun remember screen name), John (Comp97GSR), Eric95POS, Chris Furby, Trey Commanda, Joe (Doespike), Bradstard, Ed (ITR 341), Jeff Goodnow, Dave ROR, Craig Assdime, Pat (Splat Sr.), Ryan (RTW showkah), Mike (Migs), DavidNYC, Zygspeed, White Rocket, Koala Dummies, get LEFT, GO-PLAY-KEYBOARD, Tootsie ....... sorry if i didn't add you, REALLY i am.
This list could go on forever, but i do want to express my Thanks to many on these boards for helping me at one time or another along the way. I have made more friends via my INTEGRA TYPE R then i would have ever imagined. People can't fathom that i can travel almost anywhere in the world and have an open door waiting to invite me inside simply bc of a "stupid car".
Well here is to a lifetime of friendships that i am sincerely thankful for.
I'll apologize one last time for those i didn't directly mention, bc i feel bad about it already LOL.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Thanksgibing meet!
I DID NOT EDIT THIS.... SO SORRY FOR GRAMMAR MISTAKES.

Great write-up Jon. The more I read the more I thought about the people and the generosity shown towards me at events like Expo, etc. This statement really sum it up for me:

Lately several outstanding individuals have been dealt a difficult hand to play. I was taken by myself by the thoughts I had towards them and their situations- I really felt for them, as did others who posted. It is wonderful to know that when one is down, there are many on this board who feel for them and are willing to step up. Many are willing to reach out a hand and contribute whatever they can to help you and your situation. This community has always impressed me, and the people here are what make this forum/community what it is.

This is what it all about. I too didn't realize how owning a silly caR could lead to so much more in life.

I couldn't express how cool this place is or how much fun the Expos have been without dragging on for a long time. I wrote a 6 page paper on the ITR Expo two weeks ago for a creative non-fiction class and it reminded me of how much of an impact all j00 guys have had on me
(its also the first 100% I've ever gotten on paper
). Wish I could make it to the thanksgiving meet but have fun. Hopefully we're all together at Expo 9. </TD></TR></TABLE>
I wish I could read that paper... post it up Scott?

This is not a write up. This is simply a wonderful thought from a truth friend to his other friends whom the bond has been made on common interest = THE INTEGRA TYPE R COMMUNITY.

100% agreed. It has been epic how this community has changed my life. Considering my location compared to most of j00z, I still feel like we're all hanging out all the time. There are no borders.
