Ok, here's the deal. My friend has a 1983 carb accord hb. He wants to do a swap and turbocharge it. I told him to sell the car. He said no he wants to do this, so here I go. I know Jackson racing used to make turbo kits for carb honda's but where do I find them now? Will a zc or any other efi honda motor drop in with "relative" easy. I say relative as in almost as easy as putting an H22a in a rex. Can anyone help me with this task?! The motor that is chosen will be built "accord"ingly to handle the boost and NOS that he wants to squeeze, so that part isn't a problem. I just need to know if there is something that will fit. CAN ANYONE HELP ME? I suppose Oscar Jackson would have some answers, maybe I'll give him a call.

 

how much does hte car weigh?

my source say hte hatch is 915kg which is just under 2000lbs

go for a B18 or B20 and build for boost.

it can be done, you will have to check clearances of engine parts and suitable engine mounts which will have to be good custom made parts,

and upgrade the brakes and suspension and you should be right...

budget = $7000+

If anything goes in there its going to have to be custom. That car is just to old for any aftermarket parts. It would be sweet if he sticks with it and does a swap, or some sort of FI.

 

Who would be good to contact for the custom mounts. I have a feeling this search was over before it even started because of the cost factor and lack of previous knowledge with regards to this car.

 

custom mounts? Your best bet would be to weld that sucker in there. witht the mounts it comes with. The welding gun will be your best friend for this project.
