I'm currently in the market for a new transmission for my b-series. Currently best time to date is 11.60 @117 cutting 1.63 60' on 23-8-13 m&h's on a stock us gsr transmission no lsd.Motor makes 250.64 whp with 165.95 tq.
Would i benefit from a jdm itr with a transmission with a upgraded fd(ats 4.9)or would i be better off just getting a itr or b16 trans with a 4.7? Any input would be great

you should just go jdm itr/lsd with a 4.9.

This is my setup. B16 tranny, mfactory long 1st (3.07) and 4.928 fd, gsr 5th, gear speed carbon synchros, obx lsd. If you go with a 4.9 fd you should probably use some 24.5" slicks. Or if you keep the 23's use a gsr 4th and 5th.
curious why would u want to go to 24.5 if u get a bigger final drive, and how does if u keep the 23's use gsr 4th and 5th, i dont get it?
im still learning
well i think i just learned, but the b16 4th is shorter... Yep lol i just found out nevermind, your right

I would only step up to 24.5s if your car was making the power to benefit from them. By the low 1.6 60fts i would say that 23s are working for you.
I would not suggest you go with a 4.9 and then try and compensate for that by adding tire size.
Switching to the b16 is a great idea.
I would say b16 trans, 4.7 FD, and an LSD you will be golden

so with his power you sugest him running 23's with a b16 tranny and 4.7 final. What kind of power would he have to have to run 24.5's all motor wise.

That's the route I was thinking about going I really did not want to step up to a 24.5 slick so I think I'll go with the b16 trans with 4.7 fd and circuit works spool that chad(a-train) is selling
