Default Maint. Rqrd. Light

My Accord just started doing this. When first turning on my car, the orange maintenance required light comes on and blinks about 5 or 6 times before shutting off. I don't remember it ever doing this before. What can this mean?

Did you finally get the Vtec stickers ?!!!!

Under glovebox with 2-pin blue plug, put a paper clip in it, turn car in "on" position without starting and count how many times the CEL blinks, it will blink slow and fast, count each seperately. post bact what DTC code it is or look it up and there's your answer !

Are you refering to the Maintaince Required flag on the dash cluster, or are you refering to the "Check Engine Lamp" ?

The "Maintaince Required Flag" was no more than a mechanical milage counter which changed color at pre-determined intervals.

The CEL is the diagnostic window to the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Either do the fingers/toes thing doing the count or get the car to DeathZone Autoparts and they SHOULD be able to scan it for you.

Its my maintainance required light. I'm aware of what my CEL looks like. The main. required light shouldn't send out codes like the CEL. I heard before that it is used for timing intervals. Everything is tip top with the engine & maintainance. Can I just reset the light? I know how.

yes, and I removed them from that thread as well because it's not relevant to the thread and takes things off topic.

*post edited.

I just wanted to ensure that the M.R. light didn't serve any purpose other than to let me know of the maintainance intervals. I reseted the light. Should stop coming on.

Until then, cheers.
