i have a 99 civic ex auto.

I am having trouble starting it up. I wanted to ask for some help. The car has always ran great. it has 160K miles. Car is stock.
The trouble started two nights ago. I was at my GFs house and they have 5 gallon gas tank inside the garage. The gasoline in it has been there for a months, i think like 5 months. Well we poured about a gallon into their Santa fe and the rest into my civic. I had about half a tank of gas before i added any gas. Their Santa Fe wouldnt start up the next day, it woudl just crank. it eventually started and it smoked for a second(whitish smoke). Then I checked my car to see if it had the same problem. It cranked up just fine and then i turned it off; Later that night I started it up and ran fine for a few seconds until I put it in reverse and the car shut off. Ever since, the car hasnt been able to start up.

I am thinking something was wrong with the gas and it screwed up my fuel pump or something in the fuel system. But i am unsure, it just cranks and cranks but doesnt start up....like you're trying to start the car with low gas. Today I put a cheveron fuel system cleaner in to see if it would help but it still doesnt start up.

anyone have any ideas.

try replacing the fuel filter, could have got clogged. or if the gas had a mixture of oil/gas that might cause it not to start. good luck

check ur fuel filter cause when u run the car low on gas or put shitty gas in it will clog it instantly
