All Motor Power Potential RSX TYPE S
I am in the process of getting an RSX Type S I heard so many good things about this car this car. After test driving a friends TYPE S I fell in love with this high winding, screaming engine! I used to drive a highly VW Jetta GLI and I'm looking for something alot more reliable and alot more peppy! one thing I noticed off the bat was the lack of torque that the Engine put out vs my GLI, however the GLI could not beat the type is in reliability and fun factor. Now my GLI put out over 300WHP with a turbo, I like the idea of an ALL Motor engine for many factors. Now I have money to blow on making this car a complete N/A Beast what are the potentials of this engine? Most of the tuning companies i dealt with for my jetta were based out of Germany, are there any japanese tuning companies that offer these parts?
I don't know much about the potential of this engine, I'm new to honda/acura i only knew the eurocars. there are people who know this engine inside and out.

the people that know this engine inside n out are the people that read.
Clubrsx.com is a very good site to read/discuss about the rsx. Im a member on there too. i had an 04 typeS for 3 years ... until it was totaled

1) How much time/money do you have
2) How radical do you want it
3) How much are you willing to sacrafice good daily driving abilities
4) What are you looking to do with the car
Answer these and maybe someone can help you out.
Otherwise, the RSX with just bolt-ons can be a fun motor. But a Honda 2.0L NA VTEC motor is completely different from a Turboed VW.

I own an RSX, but the base model. I was reading on Crsx, that a type S with I/H/E/Kpro you can be at a solid 190-195 at the wheels. 200 whp, is relatively easy and reliable, although tuning is pricey.

if this is true, keep the motor in your car and buy a k20r motor, do a build in your garage, then swap when motor is fully built

Actually, I'd do a K24 build if I really, really wanted to sink that much money into a Honda.
In reality though, I'd take the extra $10K in upgrading/tuning and buy myself a beater or a faster/nicer stock car.
RSX-S price + 10K in mods = almost a used early NSX.

In reality, I wouldn't even get an RSX or EP3 if I were building a K.
I'd try to find a decent 04-05 Civic sedan or coupe. They are cheaper, then you can go wild with a K24 build, nice JDM interior bits, etc. In the end the chassis is the same, but the overall car will be a bit lighter.

todd has a point but if i were building a k car i would either go with a K swap in a DC2 or EG. i know some guys with k swaps in their EG's and let me tell you that **** is crazy fast and scary at times.
and imo if you want alot of power in the rsx i wouldnt go all motor i would go boost.

I'm kind of a purist...I don't think a K belongs in an older chassis. However, it does somewhat drop right in the 01-05 Civic, and those cars are just as light as a DC2. And they are less $$ to swap because you don't need all of the expensive mounts, rewiring, cable/rod conversions, etc.
I'm honestly surprised you don't see more 01-05 Civics with K's in them.

i have seen some 05 civics with k swaps but im seeing more eg's with k's nowadays i just like the dc2 chassis more than any other old honda and for some reason i was never into the whole hatch thing that much unless we are talking about gods charriot the CRX
