95 Si Hatch

The hood won't get the final "lock" when you close it. It's like it's perma 'popped', so it won't fly up, but it's not down all the way.

I'm about to start tearing the car down because I'm having it painted and was planning on re-routing the cable release anyway, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue before and if I needed to replace anything. (Can't tell by looking at the latch.)

I did a few searches and most were broken cables with the hood stuck down...

Any help would be great, thanks!

best suggestion is to take the latch off the car a spray th shi t out of it with wd40 or if u can get to a parts washer clean it with that for like 45 min i had the same problem on my ej6 trust me clean the hell out of it and make sure when ur cleaning it to move all the parts and make sure they move semi freely also try moving the latch up or down to see where u need it to completely lock
