Default Can we make a proper brake bleeding / brake fluid flush guide?

I've researched quite a bit but I'm getting a lot of conflicting info, there is no decent all it one thread so let's try to make one here.. (please link me if one exists because I sure as hell missed it). Most of them are not specific enough...

Now I'm going to post the instructions from my research, but I need someone who actually knows what they're doing to clarify. Let's do the method with two people..

***To bleed air out of your brakes***

1) Make sure the fluid in your master cylinder is full when you start, and check it often (let's say every 3 times that you push down the brake pedal) so that it doesn't get low. At this point top it off so it's full again. If it gets too low air gets in the whole system and you have to re bleed everything.

2) Basically all you need to do is open the bleeder valve, have your helper push down the pedal down, and while is the pedal is down tighten the valve. Make sure your helper does NOT release the pedal until you close the valve because then air will get in it. Keep doing this until the brake fluid come out nicely with no bubbles, then move on to the next brake caliper/drum until you're done.

This is where there is some confusion, first of all on the order of the bleeding. Most places say from the brake furthest from the master cylinder to closest (right rear, left rear, right front, left front.) However I read on here (can't find the thread now) that it should be different for Hondas. I forget the order so can someone please repost that. But either way even honda turning has an article which says to do it from furthest to closest so I don't even know if it matters...

The other question that I have, is how often do you pump the brakes between tightening the valve? Is it like... open valve, have someone push the pedal down and hold it down, then close valve, and do it over again until there are no bubbles? Because some articles say that you open the valve, and have the person pump it X number of times (2-4) and then only on that last one have them hold it down while you tighten. But doesn't air get in the system when you release the pedal? How should this be done then, open tighten it every one time or every few times?

And lastly, how far do you get your helper to push the pedal down? Some don't say anything at all as if you just push the pedal to the floor each time, others say to make sure not to do this and to not push it more than half way. So which is it...

4) Once you do all the above and there is no more air just top up the master cylinder and you're done.

Now, this is just for bleeding air out of the brakes, but what if you need to put in new fluid since your old one is dirty?

I tried researching that too and people say you should take out the fluid from the master, and put new one in and just bleed them normally to get the old fluid out, but how the hell do you get it out of the master cylinder?? And doesn't new the new fluid get mixed in with the old fluid anyways when it's in the lines etc?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help (I know it's a long post). It's something that's simple to do but I want to make sure I do it right so I don't have to re do it later etc or mess anything up.

I have a 92 LX if it matters.

pump brake 3 times slowley pressing all the way down, hold brake down after 3, while holding the brake down open the valve let the fluid shoot out and close the valve then release pedal, repeat until theres no more bubbles.

Ok yes, slight confusion there on my part.

Some guides say, pump brake pedal 3 times with valve closed, then while it's being held down open valve, let fluid out and then close it, and repeat.

Others say just open up the bleeder, then pump it (while it's open), then close while it's being held down.

Are you sure it's okay to push it all the way down to the floor ?

the way i do it is

A. Make sure reservoir is full
B. start at the brake furthest from the master
C. pump brakes til pedal is firm
D. have pedal hold down, open bleeder, then close ,repeat C
E. repeat til fluid is clean and no air bubbles are present
F. make sure reservoir doesnt runs empty during this
G. repeat steps C-F until all 4 corners are done.
H. top off fluid and go to town

Is the brake pedal pressed all the way to the floor when you open/close the bleeder? Or do you put a piece of wood to keep from going all the way or something

honda workshop manual says use the pump up the pedal with valve closed, open valve and close again when helpers foot goes to floor while doing the usual of topping up fluid, repeat until no more bubbles,
it also says to blled in the order of L/H/R R/H/F R/H/R L/H/F.
Im a mechanic myself but just used the book for reference.
worked perfect for me after fitting front discs and calipers from a lancer evo 4 on my b18 eg civic.

i go to the floor, but close the bleeder while its still flowing, to not allow air back in
