Default h22 in eg wont go into 5th gear

i put a h22 in my eg and everthing is perfect with the swap shifts really nice into 1st to 4th and reverse but wont go into 5th. tranny has honda mtf in it and is filled to the file hole. it feels like it goes in but when you let the clutch out nothing happens and it grinds. just wondering if my 5th gear is blown or if something could be adjusted to help this. i guess i could also try moving the shifter and shift plate around a little to maybe make it line up better but all the other gears feel smooth. just getting frustrated but if i cant figure it out in the next couple of weeks ill just buy a new tranny. any input would be helpful.

when doing the h22 swap in eg's a lot of times they want you go grind part of something (cant remember what it is), but it hits the shifter arms on the tranny. However if thats not a problem then the synro for 5th could be gone inside the tranny

it kind of feels like its hitting something because its just a dead stop before 5th gear goes all the way in. it gets half way there then stops and you let the clutch out and nothing happens. all have to look and see if anything is hitting the cables or what not.

pull the cables off the tranny and move the arms on the tranny to see if you can get it to go into 5th, to elminate your shifter hitting something or your cables being in a bind
