hey i have a friend who just called me. saying he put his h22 bottom end rebuild all together and then forgot some sort of oil things.. needless to say he had to take the girdle back off.
since he already torqued those bearings down. are they reusable?
they havent been turned except by hand to make sure everything flows freely.
he wants to know if he will need new main bearings. or if hes ok with retorqueing these main bolts back down with the same bearings.

It won't hurt anything, make sure the bearings have been plastigaged, however.

 

ok. he plastigauged everything and it all checked out again..
so.. hes good?
everything spins nicely.

 

the bearings dont have to be replaced.
