Trans advice please on a 2nd gear crunch.
My 2nd gear crunches at high rpm after 1st gear. Its the one crunch two.
What parts am I going to need to fix it ? Most likely just a new second gear?
Please help, Thanks-

You won't replace your 2nd gear in your life unless your tranny is low in oil and all the gears melt together.

It seems like if I try not to make it crunch, I can do it, just end up shifting 1-2 slower. Please excuse my n00b on this topic but will I have to drop the trans to replace the syncros?
You bet your *** you will. If you're going to try to tackle this project yourself, get a Helms manual. Transmission work must be done carefully and correctly, and it can be overwhelming for some.

If the syncro is worn, it crunch in high rpm shifting. If you shift slower, the shifting will take place in a lower rpm and therefore won't crunch.
And yes, you definitly need to drop the trans to replace the syncro.

if you up-shift slower and it did not crunch, it is pretty much the syncro for sure.
