1971 Honda CL 70 carb problem... drain screw missing and winter prep
I have a CL 70 that was in great shape until I lost the drain screw.
Are there ANY possible fillers I can use instead of the actual drain screw? Any advice on how to get a new drain screw? Does this ebay kit have what I need?

(I need #6 on this page: http://www.bikebandit.com/hous...m9154)
Also, about winterizing. This is my first winter with this bike- am I good to just drain the fuel and leave it garaged?
Thanks.

actually you want the gas tank filled to the brim with gas but the carbs drained of gas. You want gas in the tank so the tank doesn't rust however you can't have it in the carbs because chances are it will turn to varnish
I'm willing to bet that drain bolts from other Hondas of a similar vintage would fit. I'm not seeing a drain bolt in that Ebay kit. You could probably buy an old carb for $20 on ebay and scavenge it for all the parts you need.
As for winterizing: take the battery out, trickle charge it and put it in a warm place. Fill the tank all the way up, add some Sta-bil,shake the tank up. Run the bike with the Sta-bil gas for a bit, shut the petcock off and let the carbs run dry. If at all possible, store the bike in a warm place, do so. if not, atleast cover it. Spray the engine and exhaust with WD40, it'll keep condensation from forming and rusting all the bolts and chrome. When you start it up in the spring, it'll just burn off and won't leave any residue. If it's due for an oil change I'd due it now before storing it, but other people would wait until spring.
Hope that helps
