Questions about a 92 DA I found ??
Whats going on members ??, I found a 92 DA that I could not pass up, $400.00 the car has a little rust and a knock in the motor, now the previous owner and I found out the knock is coming from cylinder 3, the knock starts at 2000 RPM, now I pulled the 3 cyclinder plug wire and the knock went away, and started to miss, like it should since there is no spark LOL, the previous owner says its the rod bearing thats causing the issue with the knock, does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing the knock with the DA, the motor has around 200k, timing belt has been replaced just incase anyone wanted to know
Thanks
Thanks
well the knock is definately the rod. It's either got a loose wrist pin or a spun bearing. when you pulled the wire it stopped igniting the chamber so theres no as much pressure on that rod.

if your looking for a cheap fix then you can get a set of bearings, and roll them in,

That is what I was thinking about doing...Thanks for the Help and the fast answers, This may sound stupid but could it be a stuck injector that could be causing the knock in the 3rd cylinder or am I wrong

Should I measure the crank to make sure I get the correct rod bearing size ?? or would standard size rod bearings be fine ?
Thank you
